How my antiques-value?

Many of us have collected things in years without ever thinking about their value. Or submitted items of family members in a will. Many of the things that are too good or valuable to throw away but still end up gathering dust in our attic space. Most people would be happy to sell their antiques and collectors ' items if they knew that they get a fair price for them, but how do the untrained eye value antiques. There are some ways to get your antiques scored, some cost money, and some are free. The first way is to take your antiques to an auction house. The internal experts will display your articles and research which must be and give you a price that they are keen to realise its auction of the item. This can cost a little fair, but if you place your items in its auction since they can offer the service free of charge. Remember, the more popular auction house is the higher fee but it is a good reason for this, as they tend to have much more publicity and attract many more buyers.
The second way is much cheaper, can you take your items to antique fairs and talk with dealers. I recommend that you go to one of the major antique fairs to Newark so you can get more than an opinion. But remember the stall holders are trading so will look to make a small profit on your record, but they will usually offer you quickly pay no hassle sales for the object. If you have lots of articles, it is always a good idea to purchase a pitch in a fair manner, you can do lots of buyers for very little money.
The third way for us into the 21st century. You can now take a picture of your antique or collect and send it to a website that will come back within 48 hours with a valuation. This service is great but they do not sell items so as not to be blamed for prices not reaching the estimated figures. And it can be expensive if you have a number of things to value.

I hope that this has contributed to those of you that wonder how it rates the granny's China and stamp collection in the wind. A list of UK antique fairs are the dates on the website of the organisers of the Newark IACF antiques fair.
